CHARITY WORK

Growing up I had taken part in many charity events mostly for C.H.I.E.F (that's Cystics of Hull Independent Equipment Fund) and CF trust. To this day my mum still attends meetings and I sometimes pop on virtual meetings to say hello etc. I have always like giving back where I can be it volunteering with Oakwood dog shelter, feeding and often singing dog to sleep. Or with my former housing association that would eventually become my career. There I could focus on youth voice, LGBTQ+ as well as the disabled in their everyday living in their communities. I also volunteered as a karate instructor for 9 years, that I will do into more detail about on my Karate and physio page. The strangest one I did was winning a space hopper race across the Humber bridge. Nothing like extreme heights, long distance and space hoppers to get the money in haha.

Now a days I've aimed to challenge myself. I am very privileged to be able to do a lot of physical challenges and its not something I take lightly, although completing them means I'm often more fitter than prior so I can do another more challenging one. Take my Bike ride for Heading to 22 and Diabetes UK. I rode 500 miles in a month and by the end I was my highest weight ever and my lung function was fantastic. Same goes for my swim for the same Charity. swimming 44 miles in 12 weeks.

I have also been fortunate to be a key speaker for the Lions Club and was east Yorkshires CF representative for Viking radio aiming to get Trikafta and other drugs funded on the NHS.
